Our clients requested a simple and open floor plan with an ample screen porch where they could enjoy family and friends. The project site boundary on the Leadenwah River is softened by six magnificent oak trees. The trees’ canopies frame beautiful vistas of the Lowcountry landscape of Wadmalaw Island, South Carolina. The project is still in construction by Thomas Lloyd-Warren, but in the images, you can see the local cypress wood framed roof and deck and autoclaved aerated concrete block construction. This cottage’s footprint is approximately 800 sf of interior space and 400 sf of screened space, and the design draws from construction methods more common of the past and frames the comforts and amenities of today.
