Italy

We spent the fall and early winter of 2005 in Genoa, Italy at the Clemson Architecture Center studying Italian design from classical to modern. Traveling to visit Italianworks of architecture and civic design was a large part of the program, and a sketchbook was critical to our field observations. While a camera captures ascene, sketching allows for a more in depth understanding of methods of assembly, or diagramatic analysis of a site or building. Sketching is a part of our research and our study in the field of architecture, as well as a means of communication.
