Coffee Table

This coffee table was built with the idea that there would be an inversion of two material’s assumed properties. The natural inclination was to make steel structural and to allow wood to act as infill material.  Here those role’s are reversed: red oak supports the infill of diamond plate steel. Mortice and Tenon joints are concealed, the wood is rabbeted to receive the plate steel.
